WHAT we do

Stewardship: CEBA Activities

Working on the philosophical understanding that human well-being is dependent on environmental health, Wildlands has adopted a CEBA (Community Ecosystems Based Adaptation) model as philosophical construct and organising principle for where we work and what we do. We in the process of mainstreaming it into the green economy as an adaptation tool that promotes social inclusiveness and sustainable development.

Activities that support the formal conservation and protection of the priority biodiversity associated with these initiatives by supporting the expansion of the ‘conservation footprint;’ protecting areas that underwrite ecosystem function. We help secure the conservation of rare and threatened species while facilitating the development of responsible eco-tourism related opportunities, including guiding, lodges, campsites and sustainable natural resource harvesting. We work closely with and educate communities of the importance these valuable areas both for biodiversity and the positive impact they can have on their own livelihoods.
