Climate change impacts on the environmentOne of the greatest environmental challenges presently facing our Earth is the effect of climate change. The world’s weather and climate patterns, extreme weather events, rise in sea level, impacts on rainfall and temperature increases are all part of climate change. Models have indicated that by 2100 it is likely the surface temperature will rise by 1.4º Celsius to 5.8º Celsius depending on latitude and longitude.
